Welcome to Hershey Elementary School, home to our students in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade.  The school building was originally constructed in 1954; today the facility offers more than 225,000 square feet dedicated to meeting the modern needs of young learners.

Included within Hershey Elementary School is the Early Childhood Center (ECC), a special space for our beginning learners in Kindergarten and Grade 1.  With its own entrance, gym and multipurpose spaces, the ECC provides a safe environment that is conducive to the needs of our youngest learners - many of whom are experiencing their first formal schooling. In the main elementary building, you will sometimes hear or see references to the Primary Elementary or the Intermediate Elementary.  The term “primary” refers to students in Grades 2-3 while “intermediate” students are those in Grades 4-5. But we’re all one big happy building, with a single main public entry and amenities such as the cafeteria, library, multi-purpose rooms and a gymnasium.

At Hershey Elementary School, we know young children learn by doing. Learning in all our grades is sequential and students demonstrate readiness for new understandings based on their maturation and experiences. Children are motivated to learn through their own need to make sense of the world around them.  At Hershey Elementary School, we are part of a community cultivating an extraordinary learning environment!
